Does anyone have any ideas as to what the popularity of google (percentage of market) is versus the other major search engines?

Are there any sites with this type of reference information?

Any information provided would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Jammer

Based on those stats with Google feeding results to Yahoo, Netscape and AOL, Google commands 81.2% of Internet search traffic.

Being listed well in Google is a must!

ehem.. 81.2% of AMERICAN internet search traffic -
There are over 200 other countries you know and there are places where Google isn't the most popular search engine.

Your right!

Most of our sales are in the US so those are the only ones I care about.

I should of said US Internet traffic.

Actually you can't add the numbers in that survey because they are measures of market reach, not percentages of searches done. In other words, the numbers add up to more than 100%.

My personal guess is that Google is responsible for at least 75% of search engine referrals, both in the US and worldwide.

No doubt about it. If you are not in Google, you don't exist.

In my logs i can see these figures about visitors of my sites coming from SE's:

from Google between 60 and 80 %
from Yahoo between 10 and 20 %
from MSN between 7 and 15 %
from AOL between 1 and 6 %

Undoubtedly Google being by far the most important SE ...

The sites are all com domains, language is english, focus is international. All sites are hosted in Germany.

Do some of you see similar figures?

@ Brett:
For me Alexa top 500 are a little bit mistakable because traffic at Yahoo, MSN and others is not only search engine traffic.

Sure what you say is absolutely correct, Brett.

I made just some supplement - because I guess concerning SE's Google is first.

Or don't you think so?
