I own a program called <snip>. For the last couple of months, it has been either very high or very low on Google rankings. When high, Google has a recent version of the main page in its cache, and when low Google has an old version in its cache. The period of oscillation seems to be around 7 days. Directly after a dance, it seems to be high in the rankings.

To give you some idea of how much it's moving, if you search for <snip>, I will appear either in the top three (of the first page) or appear way down on page 10. Search combinations such as <snip> result in listings that are either on the first page or absolutely nowhere (within the limits of my patience to search).

Whilst <snip> doesn't typically get a great position yet on other search engines (except FAST) no other engines seem to exhibit this exasperating behaviour.
