Total Google Search Numbers

Are there daily numbers available for Google searches?

I use daily stats to my sites for a variety of purposes. Does anyone know if there are any numbers available, on a daily basis, of the total searches on Google.

Since internet traffic varies from day to day as the world changes,(war etc,) I think it would help in evaluating a sites traffic fluctuations, if you could factor in the fluctuations on Google from day to day. Can anyone point me to anything like this?

the zeitgeist with google patterns and trends exists:
[google.com...]

maybe buried somewhere at cyberatlas also there could be some numbers:
[cyberatlas.internet.com...]

Excellent links sandor.... I haven't used the zeitgeist results, but have been using the Yahoo Buzz Index:

[buzz.yahoo.com...]

Yahoo is daily, but there seems to be a lot more useful information in the zeitgeist results.

Thanks sandor and netguy for those links. I found that the cyberatlas was particularly useful in what I was looking for.
