What's my page rank?

I have not been able to access a computer that will allow me to install the google toolbar. I also cannot figure out any other way to tell what my page rank is. I am trying to trade links with someone, and I would benefit from knowing what both of our page ranks are. Would someone be so kind to visit my page and his, and tell me what the page rank for the main page is?

The only way to tell is if you have a directory listing for that page. Go to the googlized version of the ODP and find your link. The green bar at left should be the pr.

I am on a Mac and can't make use of the toolbar either. If you go to google and type www.yourdomain.com ... you get this:

Site Title
Site description
Category: Whatever> whatever>whatever

Google can show you the following information for this URL:

Show Google's cache of www.yourdomain.com
. Find web pages that are similar to www.yourdomain.com
. Find web pages that link to www.yourdomain.com
. Find web pages that contain the term "www.yourdomaini.com"

If you click on the category listing, it will take you to the Google directory page where the site is listed and the PR is shown beside each site.

I followed your instructions concerning typing in my domain name on Google for information on my site and it said there was no information for my site. What could be the problem? We are ranked at about 13,900 on Alexa? We also don't show up in a Google search.

eurolandscott have you tried to search for your site in DMOZ, I've read somewhere that Google directory is close to DMOZ dir!

Thanks, I submitted to them 2 days ago and I'm sure thats not enough time to get listed. There is no information on us there by the way. Is there a way to speed up the listing process?

2 days is not NEARLY enough to get listed in DMOZ. Depends on your category, but some have found that takes months.

If you're not listed in Google, then Google PageRank is not even an issue.

What it means is that your site is not listed in the Google directory. If it is a new site with few or no links to it, this would explain it. However, if the site is an established one which had been in the index in the past, then it's possible that you have incurred a penalty.

Once the site is listed in DMOZ (which can take quite some time) it will be listed in the Google Directory. However, it is much faster to get several incoming links from similar or associated sites. Google will then spider the site and although it may not be added to the directory right away, at least your results will show up in searches.

A good start is to buy your way into Yahoo. Although I am not sure of that anymore with the recent buyout of Inktomi?
