Duplicate sites in Google results

I have noticed that on any given search query I always get a few websites that appear more than once in the results in different positions but with the same page. I get what I believe to be doorways with different URLs but same content.
Is this acceptable or is it cheating but unless reported Google is unaware of them?

Get used to it.

As of late, I am seeing spammers crawl back up in the SERPS with mulitple doorway pages, cloaked pages, etc, etc.

It seems as if they are immune to any action from Google for what ever reason.

Some get caught, most do not.

It is very frustrating to have to compete with the spam.

Once reported Google should do something about it quickly for the sake of the no spam strict policy! I've reported a couple of competitors that were cloaking, stuffing keywords, using invisible text, etc. to no avail. Some boost the rank by linking to link farms, something I was always told that would be disregarded by Google given the importance of the quality of the links. I carefully optimized the content of my website strickly by the book but that does not seem to pay up.

Unfortunately spam seems the only answer to survival.

Eat lunch or be lunch!
