And I'm the first to notice... :)

It appears that the google image server is down - if you do an image search, you'll only get errors (except for just a handful of exceptions).

Just wanted to post it - after all it's every SEO's dream to be the first to report a Google "phenomenon" to WebmasterWorld! ;)

I seem to get about half of the images in the UK as well.

Ok, ok, but I only missed it by 2 1/2 hours - guess that was pretty close, lol ;)

The funny thing is that .com shows a couple more pictures than e.g. .de or co.uk - but all of them seem pretty broken...

It isn't that server is down, it's the code is broken. If you directly request a thumbnail image from the search results page - such as

the following html page (rather than gif image) appears:

image-sequence_menu image-sequence menu
Learn to waterski slideshow
example waterski01 jpg waterski02 jpg waterski03 jpg etc

It's a very interesting insight into how the code functions, and, as such, how you can get your images indexed.

It appears to be a listing of all the keywords associated with that image.

Another example:

image-ra01
ra 2001 ra 01
INRIA - rapport annuel
image du ra
Sommaire Première partie Téléchargement PDF 1 255 MO
Rapport annuel 2001

These results appear when the following search is entered:
