Has freshbot activity declined since last update?

Or is it just me?

The last few months I had freshie coming by most days and looking at a lot of my site... since the last update it seems to just drop by to check the .index and not much else. I was cleaning up code and really working on the site through those previous periods, but I've still been adding pages lately and it just doesn't seem to be anywhere near as interested. Has anyone else seen this, or is it just me?

"Whatever you do, don't mention the WAR! I did, but I think I got away with it!" - John Cleese, Faulty Towers

It's the WAR, Stefan. All the Googlebots are preoccupied updating WAR news.

One of my favourite episodes...

You just might have it there.

Hehe, a classic. Also the one where his car won't start..."You've tried it on just once too often! Right! Well, don't say I haven't warned you! I've laid it on the line to you time and time again! Right! Well…this is it! I'm going to give you a damn good thrashing!"

[proceeds to thrash his car with a branch of a tree]

lol :)

While Polly entertains the fancy dinner guests with a charming rendition of, "I'm just a girl who can't say no, I'm in a terrible fix!"

The traffic to my site was down about 90% overnight... I had to check my listings with all the SE's to make sure the site hadn't vanished, (the server monitor showed it online all night).

It's a beautiful day outside. I'm going to forget about the site, the logs, the war, (oops, didn't mean to mention that), and go for a walk.

I have noticed a slight drop in the frequency of Freshbot visits over the past few days. But she's still comin round and grabbing my high PR pages. She just gave me a #9 spot for a site that I just made last week :)

Thursday I put up an article related to wartime and my topic. I was delighted to see it is in the top 10 on several 2 word search phrases. Of course it's not a big topic but it is one many miltiary wives and mothers will be searching for information on. It shows the freshbot works.

OTOH I haven't been visited by the freshbot for over 2 days now. I suppose it is busy. I'm glad I got my article up early. That's the sort of thing I would never have thought of until I started learning how Google works here on this forum.

Freshie returned last night, taking a number of pages, after having only been interested in the .index for the last couple of weeks. This has been totally different behaviour for my site, having it mostly disappear like that. Glad to see it back anyway.

Stefan... I noticed the same thing. Google would grab a page or 2, then stop. Mar 23-26 kept the stale info, then Google grabbed more Wed night, updated the freshtags yesterday, and last night went deep on all my sites.

Hopefully, everything will be current today. Since I have allot of news sites, that 3-day lag was a killer! (fortunately, CNN and everybody else was in the same boat).

I see several posts about Google having several-month-old results, and I must say that other than waiting for a max of 2-3 days, Google generally keeps my active sites current.

Same thing here. It would grab the index and one or two other pages and disappear for a few days...
