Google switch to old version of my site...

Site drops in position. Cache is 1 month old version.

Somehow, a site I run has dropped several spots in rank and it listed in Google from a version that was a month ago.

The Google cache and site description are both at least a month old.

Why would this happen? Has anyone else had this problem?

Thanks,

Joe

Perhaps your new pages were picked up by the freshbot for a few days and then dropped... normal behaviour. If your lucky the changes you made will appear in the next index, otherwise they will not appear properly until April update. However, the freshbot may find them again if it returns to your site.

I should have explained in more detail.

The version Google has now is at least 2 maybe 3 updates ago that Google already had in it's cache.

If the Google version was only 1 cache ago I could somewhat understand that, but this is really old stuff. I update the front page every other day or so.

I have the same thing on one of my sites. Very irritating but I hope google is working out some bugs.

This happened to me too. I had a couple of freshtags, then poof, my site reverted back to a super old version. But after a day, a new version was in the cache and my freshtag was back.
