DMOZ database

Hi. My site was recently added to the DMOZ directory. Do you guys know if Google already made its crawl of it?

Hello Optima, Welcome to WebmasterWorld! :) If your site was just added to DMOZ then it may take a few cycles for it to go into the google directory structure. We saw that most recently dmoz finished their rdf dump which was in limbo for a few months making it so nobody could populate from that information but now that is fine so everything should be on cycle again.

There were reports on here that google's directory updated recently but not sure if yours made it into it, if you dont see it listed in the google directory then id wait for the following updates to come :) congrats on your inclusion in dmoz.

Unfortunatly, my site isn't in the Google directory yet even though it is in DMOZ. However, my site shows up when I make a search in Google but it seems that only my main page cache is recent. Kinda sucks cause I added an optimized section recently in order to rank better. I hope I put it online in time for Google to crawl it! ;-)

Optima, no worries if you already have a recent cache of the front page your on the right track. If your in dmoz just keep on working on increasing your linkage and of course creating new content. You're made it into dmoz so your one step ahead, your site is indexed by google so theres another. Now its just to increase rank and whatnot :)

I'm also in Inktomi with even better keywords and ranking but this one is easy. ;-)

I'm a little new to SEO, and have only been around for the last two dances... So that means I have only seen one directory update. What was the cycle of directory updating from DMOZ (when it worked)? Every month?
