Hi all,

at the end of 2003 we submittet 2 addresses to the same site:

say:
www.foo.bar.com and
foo.bar.com

Both have the exactly same content.
(Actually www.foo is a symbolic link to foo)
Now I read here that this is a 'don't do' :(

What shall I do now?
Google crawls both of them.
Is this spamming?

We do this only for our customers, not for PR.

Shall I put a 'moved permanently' on one of them, or doesn't google like redirections?

Any ideas?

It should figure out its the same, generally what I have seen is if it is the same, and its on the same IP address google will show the one which has more links to it.

Let's hope that you're right.
I had enough trouble with it getting listed at all (took 3 Months or so).
Sadly the Homepage has a grey PR and PR0 (white) for all others.
But maybe it's too early to look for PR as it was indexed for the time.

BTW:
Alltheweb shows it as #1 for it's keywords (foo bar).
Has alltheweb it's own spider?

Plasma, Alltheweb is powered by fast, you can read all about it here:
[webmasterworld.com...]

Also with the www and the no www prefeix...One of my domains went from a redirect to its own hosting last month.

Google now shows the one without the www in the results, and if you redo it to "search with the ommitted results" it shows them both. The non www is the one with more links pointing to it.
