I once got some answers to this question here, that I should insert links to Google on my site if I want it to be noticed by the search engine. So I've put a couple of links to Google in my website and it's been up for almost a year now.

It's not an important website by any means, just a personal one using space provided by my service provider, but it would be nice if it could be seen, because there are old friends who I fear may not be able to contact me, since my changing of my e-mail address.

As late as this morning if I do a search based on my name (which is also in the website) the site does not come up at all.

A few months ago I sent feedback to Google, to explain this. Still it doesn't come up.

Maybe if I leave treats on the doorstep, the metacrawler will be attracted and will come by?

What do metacrawlers like to eat?

I am not sure where the whole "link to google" thing arose.

as with any website, try and get some inbound links to your web site/page from a site which is ranked/listed in Google, and that should do the trick.

I am assuming there arent 6 million results for your name and neither is it a war zone for SEOs to be #1, so really just with 1 link coming into your site should do the trick.

If that still doesnt work, well you could try adwords :)
