The only reason this caught my attention is the block that I placed on that IP range.

Is this spybot / copyright bot faking referrer strings or are they automating queries through Google?

Either/or/both. Probably raiding google for links under choice keywords, and then hitting your site to spider it.

It's a texas dialup account through ICG communications. Maybe the IP range that you have blocked is too large.
