sites pointing to me listed before my site

Is it normal for sites that point to my site be listed before my site on a keyword search for my site title? They are new dmoz and other entries that were not in the google listing last update. My site is new, and last update made it into google. It has gone from no PR (grey bar) to a PR of 0. Since it is a new site about my translation services, I guess that is normal. Will the PR I get from having these sites pointed at me not be given to me until the next update?

I saw other people complaining about being moved down to below other sites pointing at their site, but isn't that normal if the sights linking to them have higher PR than their own site?

Thanks for patience with my ignorance

Hi Coffeelover and welcome to Webmasterworld.

Once your site has some PR you should be listed above these other sites. As your site is newly created/indexed there is lttle to worry about. Be pateint, wait a month/update or two and concentrate on developing quality content and acquiring quality (higher PR the better) in bound links.
