Are JPG images that are "href" link backs good to have? I think they show up in our backwards links, but are they as good as per say, having our company name hyperlinked the same way?

Also can someone explain the useage of keywords in your link backs - how does this help? And does using a Header1 font help in the link itself?

Also whats the weight between between H1, H2, H3, etc. etc. - which is the best to us when using header fonts.

Thanks Guys and Gals!

Link text is very important these days. Image links still give you the same amount of PR as a text link, but link text help towards your SERP rankings for the keywords in the link text.

I also wanted to let you know that ALT text will also be used to pick up keywords in the search.

(Tested this afternoon on the new index -- in fact is was keyword spam that jumped out at me)

Can you give me an example of how to use the ALT test? If I want to rank high for BLUE AND WHITE WIDGETS, do i make sure that the alt says BLUE AND WHITE WIDGETS?

Can you ticky me a place to see how this is done in real life? :)

Korkus - does this hold true on links to other pages within one site or only external links? Meaning, if I have a page that showcases SMALL WIDGETS, should I use the ALT tag from the other pages within my site?

Jady... not sure the optimum "H" size, as I use <font size=3> or <font size=+1> for titles, and the standard font size (1 or 2) for regular text content.

I was a little worried about Google perferring H1, H2, etc., and not picking up the size=, but I have played with the title sizes month to month with no other changes, and Google definately 'sees' and responds to the bigger ( <font size=+1> ) sizes. When I have bolded it...

<font size=+1><b>Title with Keywords</b></font>

...there is slightly more impovement.

(to clarify, this is obviously article titles and heading information - not the Page Title at the top!)

jady, we really can't do that without pointing out someone's site, but if you go through some sites at Google you'll surely see it. It holds true for internal links as well as others.

With one of the sites I take care of, what Google has showing as their description is the entire first short sentence of the meta description tag, and following that sentence in Google's description, they've picked up the contents of the alt attribute of an image.

Thanks Marcia and NetGuy. I do appreciate the help as this was the one thing I was unclear on. We already rank well, but it is always great to learn and impliment even more helpful items!
