What does it mean when you have no PageRank?

What does it mean when you have no PageRank showing in this Google Dance? Our clients sites used to be in the Top 10 with PageRanks of 5 & 6 but no longer in the index? Does that mean that have been Banned?

PLEASE HELP! ANY ADVICE?

Do they still have incoming links from sites in the index? If so I would fear the worst. Could be penalized. Did they use any shady tactics on the site?

Only Google knows, I thought no PR is not a penalty and PR0 is, but i am confused, so which on is it?

It happend to my site late last December, I was told maybe the server was down at the time of the deep crawl so it should be ok.

2 months later and 2 updates and my site still has a PR0 (I think, since the toolbar is misbehaving by showing the previous site PR when i go to my site).

What even make more confused is i had both googlebot and freshbot all over my site for the last 2 months and 300+ pages (all my site is indexed with google) with decent positions.

Google also show that i have 60+ backlinks to my site even though some of the most important backlinks do not show.

I have only one outlink in my site, i do not use spam (to the best of my knowledge and based on Google webmaster guidelines and WW).

An email to google did not help me understand or know what the problem is, I wish they tell me what the reason is that way i learn from it and fix it. or better i wish Googleguy can help.:(

Yes a server outage or having the site down and uncrawlable will cause a grey bar. So likely a grey bar is not a penalty, but technical defficulties. Usually bans are for really bad spamming. Most people banned know why they were. PR0 is a different story. If you are showing backlinks you should have atleast a 4. PR0 pages don't show backlinks AFAIK. Google will still crawl PR0 sites.

Ok! So, what if the web sites all have a empty grey bars and when you place your curser over it is say "Current page is npt ranked by Google" BUT if you check the backwards links they are as many as last Google Dance if not more. And remember these were all sites in the Top 10 before the dance started? Any ideas?

The toolbar might be acting crazy. I would suspect a problem with the PR display and wait to see what happens in a couple of days. If you are showing backlinks you should be OK. Are you sure your looking at the site right. www.domain.com and domain.com are 2 different pages to google. If you check backlinks for www.domain.com and look at domain.com you will find this happening.

If you show backlinks, I don't think you can have PR0. PR0 pages don't typically show backlinks.

I agree that there are bugs with the toolbar so, let's say is true. Then what if you go a search in the search for that particular url: (i.e. www.*******.com) and the results say:

Sorry, no information is available for the URL

With the other facts I have stated and now with this info what are your thoughts?

Someone subjected a down server or a transfer but all five Top 10 web sites are hosted in different servers so, the chances the all five servers were down are highly unlikely.

On WWW niether www.domain.com nor domain.com has backlinks,
i am getting sorry no info......

But when i use www2, www3 i do get the same backlinks for both www.domain.com and domain.com when i click the hyperlink "link to".

However, in Google directory there is no green bar next to my site's name.

Naw, a zero isn't always a penalty. I have a white bar and I deserve it right now. I have construction going on, it's a hard hat area that's unsafe for casual readers, but I need it live online for staffies and site fairies to work on.

We also have no real content, no links except those displayed in my chat hall, and it doesn't display right on any browser but MSIE 5.5 and 6.

I'm not proud to have a white bar, but I'm not ashamed either. When I'm open for biz, the right people will find it no matter what. Adwords to the rescue...

I am all over www2 and www3 but not in www. Also, my site has a PR0. Have I been banned? When will I really know?

I think that google is still working out its new index - so i would expect your www2 and www3 sites to appear within the next day or two.

Ill be watching it for my own sites too - similar situation here.

I am concerned about that PR0. I am wondering if everything for me in www2 and www3 is being blocked from www.

This is very important to me because if I got it right, finally, it opens up a whole lot of new possibilities. If not, I sure wasted a lot of time and have to go back to the drawing board.
