How to go from PR3 to PR4?

I've been running a small 20 page site for about 9 months, and am listed in yahoo's directory, but I can't get past PR3. I have inbound link from other sites, but they don't show up in the backlinks. I know I need to have a PR 4 to show my backlinks, but how do I get to PR 4?

My pages up keyword dense, everything looks good. I'm going crazy...especially after the update because it seems my results are worse now.

get a link from PR4 or above should do the trick.

but why you want to get to PR4 is the magic question, why not aim for PR10. (strange question you may think)

bokesch... if you are using Link: in Google, it won't show anything on a PR3. I have checked this on a couple dozen sites, and it seems that a PR4 and above before you get any results. If you have a unique domain, type it in without the link: command in Google and see what comes back.

... at least you will know who all is linking to you, and check their PR.

In fact if you've PR3 and aim PR4 you should have links coming from PR5 sites. Otherwise you'll need "n" links from PR4 sites.

Definition of "n" - A number only certain people at Google know the answer.

Simply answer...

You said your site was quality one... So now you need just more and more incoming links (for better result sites with high PR) and then again more and more links etc. etc. This is the only way how you can get it.

Try to find more sites to submit your site into, or try trade links with related sites...

Yeah because there are still sites which are growing (PR), that's why... Don't forget you have been stuck with PR3 for 9 months...

bokesch,

As others have said you need more and better links. How do you get them? Go over to the Link Development Forum at [webmasterworld.com...] and read, then ask questions there.

To see what links you have use [alltheweb.com...] and search for link.all:your.do.main. It will show you all the links it knoiws about, presumably Google also knows about them but does not report them.
