You know what sc**w the update. I'm not letting this rule my life anymore. I guess somebody may have a word with me about what I'm about to say... but for the past 8 months it hasn't just been my wife whos had a "time of the month"!

I've put my sites to the top before, if they fall I'll just try and put them back.

Easier said than done. I can't wait for Yahoo to start using Ink! This way if we get slammed by google then we still have ink for good traffic.

Excellent point, Needsomehelp. As much as I love Google, it's just plain dangerous to be so dependant on them. Even with all its defects and limitations, Inktomi is needed.

Sorry for being too brief needinfo.

Because Google broke with tradition and gave an estimate of when the update would be they will have to remember why they never do that if real problems with this update prevent it from getting out before the end of the month.

The reason not to preannounce an update is that if it doesn't happen people will start to think you are "broken".

Competition is good for the web but I do not think it can come from Inktomi at present. Everytime I try to use Inktomi, I get nothing but spam and irrelevant sites.
