I was bored waiting for Google to update (you probably can see this in large number of posts that I've done) However, I decided to be productive as well and was updating one of my sites. It was ranked #36 for a major keyword all of last month and this month. However, today when I checked it was ranked #2 (without a fresh boost).
I thought this was really strange. I'm not complaining, but I wonder why the sudden jump, eventhough Google hasn't updated yet.
Is this a sign of things to come? Is the ranking likely to last?

I have noticed what *might* be a slight change in the algo for the last 2 days, there seems to be less weight behind incoming link text.

IMHO of course, although it is not a complete stab in the dark.
