A serious discussion would help out

As the update approaches, it would be nice if we could have at least one serious post update thread.

I realize that people want to say "my site's been banned!" or YIPEE- Google rules, or my terms are all SPAM!

I think, with all the grerat minds here, we could also have a useful discussion about algo changes and across the board trends, instead of hoopin and hollerin :)

A serious question that I had yesterday, that was never answered, is I hear people talking about their servers being very busy during the 'dance'...

It's my understanding that during the dance, Google:

#1 Takes prior Deep Crawl (and some Freshbot) information to determine results after the dance;

#2 Google is 'silent' on our servers (no deep crawls or freshbots) during the dance;

#3 When the dance is over, we can hold our breath and check out our keywords for the adjustments.......... Is that pretty much it?

Thanks,
Steve

Lazerzubb.. thanks! Sounds like it starts hitting again 2-7 days after the dance, so we'll be looking for a quiet period on our servers soon. The FAQ brought up another question on the IPs though. I have been getting allot of 64 (freshbot) AND 216 deep crawl visits all month long. I even have several 216.239.**.** this morning. Do you know anything about this, and is it possible that Google is expanding its IP range?

You can always try starting a thread such as "New algo changes analysis" thread and hope the mods don't move it in the update thread. With a subject line like "New algo changes analysis", presumably people won't post there their elation or beefs about their own site.
