Flash Intro Page

How to get better rankings

What is the best way to optimize a site that has a flash intro page?

Why do Flash sites not rank as well? Is it because they dont have text on the page and the search engine can't spider the page nor follow it?

Would submitting doorways or other pages within the site be an answer or is having that flash on main page going to penalize entire site?

This would be my approach.

Others may do something simpler, like a 100% frame and optimize the <noframe. tag.
