Flash and indexing

will page be indexed if there is flash info at top?

I have a client who is adamant on not altering their homepage, which is going to make my job VERY difficult.

Here's the scenerio: Besides the client not having much text on the homepage, the top 1/4 portion of the page has flash. The've used the flash as part of their logo. Now I'm not sure if part of it is static or not since there is part that does not change, we are still looking into this. But, will spiders read past the flash or does any type of flash stop the spiders from moving on? Also, if the first 1/3 of the flash is static, will the spiders use that to read the rest of the page?

Spiders will not read any flash, as far as I know. Makes no difference whether it is static or not. But they still will read the rest of the page. So basically, yes, the pages will be indexed, but do not expect to be the top result with search engines.

you should not have any really problems, the SE's will treat the .swf has an image

note: if you a using the .swf as a menu system put a site map (text link in the body of the html )
