tweaking of pages

i have a question about google, say i am in google already, and one of my pages is not coming up in the top, now i go and keyword
the index page to get a better ranking,does google take this into effect immediately or do i have to wait for it to crawl my site for these changes to go into effect...

secondly ...is it wise to resubmit my page when changes are made to it or just wait for them to crawl it...

Hi nube, welcome to this forum. You must wait for a crawl before an engine will notice your changes. If the site is brand new, you may as well submit the change. Usually I don't resubmit pages unless a lot has been changed or the rank is so bad any resub penalty wouldn't matter anyway. The point is don't resubmit an already well ranking page.

also do the crawled links from your main site get updated
and do they come up in searches in google..
