Submit Index or sitemap?

Are there any suggestions for which method gets the best results.

Common sense would tell me that the sitemap method was better especially as the site I have been asked to submit uses a splash page and the sitemap is very clean and simple. However I may be wrong.

I'd suggest submitting the index.htm and make sure there is a text link to the site-map.htm.

I agree w/ pageoneresults, as long as your site has text links the spider will follow. Submit your index page.
