Inktomi & acronyms

Just some questions about Inktomi's relation to Hotbot

First off, there is an absolute wealth of knowledge in these forums, so much that its a bit intimidating and overwhelming at times. I had a relatively simple question. What is Inktomi's relation to Hotbot? That is, I heard that you can submit to Hotbot for free and still pretty much show up on a lot of the sites that Inktomi powers. Basically, is Inktomi a must when it comes to search engine submission?

Also, I've been reading a lot of these forums for a day or two and maybe i'll eventually pick up these things myself, but I was wondering if someone could clarify some of these acronyms:
IMO (sometimes with an H at the end)
SERPS
SEO
CS

and if there are any other often used acronyms that I should be familiar with. thanks in advance.

IMHO = In My Humble/Honest Opinion
SERPS [searchengineworld.com] = Search Engine Results Page
SEO = Search Engine Optimization [searchengineworld.com]/Optimizer
CS = Customer Service? not sure

I would suggest that Ink is a must, I am getting just as many referrals from Inktomi partner sites [inktomi.com] (mainly MSN and AOL) if not more than Google. I never submitted this site to hotbot but to goo.ne.jp, I can't say for certain that this is the reason as to why I have managed to get into inks database for free as this site has DMOZ, Yahoo and Looksmart listings as well as many high pageranking sites linking to it.
