Creating new domains

I'm a little confused on something and hopefully someone can help me out. We have a main website that ranks very well in most of the se's. Now we are also going to create more domains that have a keyword rich url. This page that we are going to create is going to have minimal information on it but will have some.

My question is the page that we have will have links to the main site. I think its called a splash or a jump page. Is this going to be a problem with ranking in the search engines? Is it considered spam? Will it effect my main site if it is spam?

You may have a problem with the splash page - absolutly. One site that does nothing but link to another site - those days are marked. It's so easy for se's to build local webmaps and spot such things on a grand netwide scale. It's one of their main weapons against the doorway page.
