Do I have to start over?

After six weeks my hosting co. sold out to another, hence a change of IP. Does this mean I have to start over with submitting or does the spider get updated by the name server?

Nah, the spiders will figure it out. No problem. (psst, contrary to what I've read in some other places, your rankings? will probably go up for awhile after the spider reindexes it)

Yup, it's a good thing.

I've seen it four times in the last month Air. We moved some domains to a different server, all 4 went up after the move (google, ink, excite). They came back down last week, but that is the same pattern as I've seen 28 times this year that we've moved sites.

So we should change web hosts every 3 months ;-))
Huh, things are so stuffed up by the change Net Solutions say I've got an invalid IP, some nameservers give one version of the site, some the new, I'm in limbo. But I know a lot more about what to do when you register a name now.
(make sure you control it, not some guy who's had your money and will update when he gets around to it.)
On that note Register Com is pretty good with the control panel.

Well, we are always moving sites. We do seo for a large concern that has 'in house domains'. Those users ultimately want off the third level domain to their own house. So we spend a great deal of time moving sites. It has been quite an education with regard to se promotion.
