Foreign SE's Indexing Time is Quicker?

We jsut completed a new site that I am still submitting to the SE's. I have done most of the submissions, but I have a few to wrap up. I was just checking to see how many SE's the site had made it into and I was surprised at the results.

First of all, the site made it into a bunch of the engines within two weeks....which I think is pretty fast.

The real thing that surprised me was that for the engines that were not currently listing the site, their Japanese version of the engine was listing the site.

I didn't submit to this foreign version of the engine......why would it list my site before the english version of the engine?

A very, very general guess: submission load is probably higher for US sites.

I've seen Japanese engines index very fast - specially Goo had a new site indexed long before any other.
