Month ago i made 2 jokes pages - one with text jokes and one with pictures.I submited to SE. Both pages were are pretty big and poorly designed. So in a month i redesigned both 2 pages (i made 3 smaller pages from each big page so i have 6 pages now) and finished yesterday. But 3 days ago i noticed my big text jokes page started getting hits on 2 out of 3 MAIN targeted keywords. 3-5 hits a day but it is a start.

So my questiuons is: should i replace my old pages with new pages or is it better to upload new pages NEXT to old pages and submit new pages .Is it safe to replace old page with new page (new one is 3 times smaller that old one but has links to other new pages) or is it better not to touch anything when you start getting hits?

New pages have competelly new meta-tags and first paragraph but jokes are the same just divide into 3 pages.

If i would have to do one thing i would submit new pages NEXT to my old pages so both would coeksist.

Any tips are appreciated.

It's usually a bad idea to have duplicate pages, I'd suggest using either the old or the new pages. But which ones? A few hits a day is of little value except to indicate that your pages are getting found and you have a start at promotion. If your intention is to build a site and put time and effort into promoting it, choose the pages that look the best, this will get you more return visitors over the long term. Remove the old pages but keep backups and, if traffic doesn't develope for the new pages, add the titles and meta tags from the old pages and see if it helps.

While you're waiting, read these forums thoroughly to gain a deeper understanding of why one page will generate more traffic the another and how to promote pages.

And Good Luck!
