I am getting complaints about someone using my webserver to send out spam. Problem is there are tons of legimit customers that use localhost as an open relay to conduct thier business.
Does anyone have any suggestions so I can keeep spammers in check?
Thanks,
Nick Powers

Open Relay is not suggested, in fact close it. Set it up so users can relay only when they authenticate first by sending their username and password. :)

Close the open relay fast. You might find your site blacklisted if you don't.

The open relay is only for the local machine. It is so peoples scripts can send email. There has got to be a way to let my users use thier legitimite scripts but stop the spammers.

you do not need an open relay to allow scripts to send email. leaving the relaying open means that anyone can relay mail through the server, not just your hosting customers, and you can be blacklisted.
close the relay now
then tell us what type of server it is and people can tell you how to configure it properly.
