I was left scatching my head however when I started Opera and it tried to display the homepage. The site I maintain use's the NT Users sign on to verify that they are from within the department, and displays the site accordingly (or prompts for a user name and password if it fails).
I checked the Opera site and found this....
Networking protocols support
Opera 6 has full support for HTTP 1.0 and HTTP 1.1. Here are some highlights:
- Persistent connections (multiple request/response through one connection),
- Cachecontrol for no-cache (always check for fresh document) and no-store (don't save to disk),
- Basic Authentication (passwords). Supports Digest Authentication, excepting integrity check on body. No current plans to support NTLM,
Why is there no current plans to support the NTLM feature? Have I missed preferences in Opera that would allow these pages to be viewed? Or perhaps there is an easier way to provide security on the site other then NTLM.
