Here is my problem. I would like to transfer my site to another server, but I have my SQL data bases and have a message board with quiet a few members. I don’t want to lose them or reinstall the script. (Or any of my sql and php programs.) How would I go about transferring everything to a new server without just rebuilding everything on it? Is that possible? I have so many cgi programs installed etc…I don’t want to have to reinstall everything….i’m going to keep all the directory structures the same..so there should be no problem...Also, I want something so I don’t have to CHMOD it in the new sever…So, to sum everything up, I just wanna transfer all the data to the new server with out any changes or problems….Anyone know of anything?

Thanks

We just finished doing that!

I dont think there is any easy way, but we found that less than a couple of days of changing paths on scripts, changing email server refs etc, was all that was needed. I think you can just export/import MySQL databases. Unless you are changing from UNIX to MS or vice versa. Then yes, it will be a chore. Just our take on one case.
