Virtual IP address question

Can this effect SE rankings?

Dumb question..I'm new at this.. I pinged my website and punched in the IP address it returned. I was surprized to see my ISP home page show up. When I asked them about it they said my site has a virtual vs Static IP address. If my ISP is hosting my site with a virtual IP address, will this affect search Engine positioning/results for my site?. I have asked for a static IP.

Some have claimed to experience search engine problems with virtual ip's and some have said that they see no difference. If you really want to be safe then try to get a static IP but you might have to pay extra for it.

Thanks for the info. It was great. Helped me out a lot. I ordered a static IP so I should be switched over in a day or so.
