I have two computers, both running Win98se and IE 5.00.2614.3500. On one I have the Free Zone Alarm, on the other, Zone Alarm Pro. Two of my sites have DHTML menus and I happened to be looking at one on the computer with Zone Alarm Pro. Well, the DHTML Menu wouldn't work and the left column of the page was distorted with information coming and going as I scrolled the page.

I tested the site on the other computer, the one with the free Zone Alarm, and there was no problem. After a little trial and error, I found that having Zone Alarm Pro set to block pop-up ads ALSO interferes with the menus as I described.

For anyone who is using Zone Alarm Pro and has it set to block pup-ups, if you're getting distortion in the left column of a page, or any where else for that matter, you'll probably have to disengage the block pup-up feature.

I've heard similar stories around the web about ZAp. I keep wanting to try it, but I think it's prudent to wait for the update?

I use Proxomitron and experineced some similar difficulties while visiting some sites.

If its a reputable site I just change the settings to bypass.

I change the settings when necessary too, but it would be nice if they had an option similar to IE's "Trusted Site" where you could list sites and not have to go back and forth with the security settings.

I have Zap too. I have the same problems. I think they are related to the Java data they place in the page source of the sites you visit. I'd rather see a little distortion than all those darn pop/up ads.

I'm sorry, but I cannot make any recommendations on this product. ;)

I have had nothing but trouble with this c**py product. Uninstalled it from my entire organization of over 1,000 machines.
