White papers on Load Times

I need some white papers on how load times adversly affect the visitor experience. I haven't had any luck finding any recent information. I've had great luck finding stuff from 1999, but I'd like something more recent. (Within last six months to a year.)

I don't have any white papers but...we had a site that appealed to the more mauture surfer but bandwidth became a problem. The man would not pay the bandwidth charges so he got throttled, everything slowed down. It started in July, traffic is now less than half of what it was and continuing on a downward trend.
