Server settings

Traxis has stopped working, as well as...

Hey guys, hope there is someone here who has experienced this before, because I can't get a straight answer off the host.

I'm running Traxis as a tracking system, everything was fine for months, then all of a sudden, I get this error:

Error: Could not load "traxis.lib" file
Error: Can't locate traxis.lib in @INC (@INC contains: c:/Perl/lib c:/Perl/site/lib .) at blah, blah.
This file needs to be in the same directory as "traxis.cgi" with permissions to executable.

Right ok, well nothing has changed on my part. At the same time, the guestbook script stops working with this error:

CGI Error
The specified CGI application misbehaved by not returning a complete set of HTTP headers. The headers it did return are:

Cant open template.shtml !

It's running on a WINNT server, and I know they have been altering some settings, because the server didn't recognise the .bmp extension, but now it does.

Anyone know what they may have altered? I'm not well up on server type settings.

Thanks, Paul

As you suggest Intrepid, it's obvious something was changed at the server, but it could be one of MANY settings. Unfortunately, your best bet is to continue yelling at your host until they get it corrected.

Thanks DaveAtIFG

You say it could be one of many things, I believe that, but can you give me some examples, because this is an area I've not dealt in at all, and the more knowledge, the better. Or perhaps you can point me in the right direction for more info.

Believe me when I say, they are getting some feedback on this, but you don't always know what the commitment or skill of the person who receives the message is. Sometimes the response is very positive with knowledgeable replies, other times, it's a sales rep for B&Q.

Take a look here [execpc.com], the section entitled "IIS Server Setup" for some example settings.

The description of the book entitled the Windows NT Server 4 Administrator's Guide [win2000mag.com] may give you some idea how difficult it is to GUESS what may have changed on your server.

This Google search [google.com] will probably keep you busy for a while, too. ;)
