There is a new notice on the Leech FTP website that says Leech FTP is over. Appears to have been reborn in a commercial product at another site [bitbeamer.com].

Quite honestly, I couldn't figure out why he had such a nice product and gave it away for free.

Perhaps, to paraphrase Mark Twain, the reported death of Leech FTP is somewhat premature. It looks like the Bitbeamer site that was supposed to sell the commercial product is nonfunctional, and that Leech FTP can still be downloaded from the original site.

I tried the program when it was recommended here at WMW, and it is indeed pretty slick. One thing I haven't figured out - how does one set it to show invisible files. I tried to use it to download a site's .htaccess file, but I couldn't see the file even though I knew it existed. I assume there's a "show hidden files" switch somewhere, but where?

Select File > Options
Click on Transfers
In the field where is say LIST add -a
If -a doesn't work try -la

Thanks, Gorufu. That does indeed look like the place to put it. Funny how obvious something can be once someone points it out!

Unfortunately, I'm not appearing to have any success with either the -a or -la commands. Of course, since I can't see the .htaccess file, I'm assuming it's there from the behavior of the system and the fact that I uploaded it at a previous time. Kind of like looking for a black marble in a dark closet.
