Sites hosted by Affinity Internet (affinity.com) are down. Cause: Name
server problems as techical support representative notified us.
Customer pages return 404 (page not found) or 403 (You are not
authorized to view this page) error messages. The service has been
down since about 4PM eastern standart time and as of now (4:26) the
sites are still down.

enotalone, that does happen with hosting sometimes. It happened a while back, just on one site of mine, not all. They're on different servers, different IP numbers. I sent off a number of emails about it before getting a reponse from the company. They were scrambling to get it fixed and email response wasn't their priority.

Be prepared, it can sometimes take a day or two until they get the situation remedied. It does happen on occasion, and at least they sent their customers out a notification and didn't leave them wondering what the problem was.

That could explain it. I just looked, they've got both Unix and Windows hosting.
