Wrong URL set-up in HTTP 404

All,

I have taken out some pages from one of my sites. But when a searcher finds
that page cached, and clicks on it, a HTTP 404 page turns up.

It looks OK when it says ""Open the www.mysite.com home page, and then look
for links to the information you want."".

BUT, the html in the URL looks like this:

[mysite.com...]

So, you cannot get to the new Home Page that has a link to the new
re-designed site!

HELP for a non-techie!!!! How can I get the URL corrected?????

Thanks in advance!

That could be one of a dozen things. I would ask your host on that one.

I am using Dellhost-- they have great support.

So, just call 'em?

Does the 404 page reside on their servers?

It should reside on their servers. It just depends on how they have it setup. Sounds like they are redirecting from a htaccess file or a system wide config file.

I contacted Dell--- hopefully they will fix it!
