After the 180 day period is lifted, it seems that the process of regathering backlinks and restoring page rank may be required.

ie sites, I don't think , just bounce back.

We are slowly seeing some movement upwards in results, following some initial pages being indexed [ albeit we are uncertain with the current site: tool not working properly ]

It's nearly 280 days since we were hacked, and although i don't wish this experience on anyone, at least those researching the patterns will have some idea about what they are up against.

To assist the process of restoration, we submitted a reinclusion request to Google about 21 days ago as part of Matt Cutt's invitation to have sites vetted that might be affected by Big Daddy.

So I can't say for sure that there wasn't some manual intervention by a "friendly" Google engineer [ gee if they've got the time for us folks out here ]

If anyone can share this experience, maybe we could throw some light on a very disruptive and vital process of restoration
