Long urls in cold fusion

We are using fusebox and are using the urls like:
http://www.example.com/index.cfm/fuseaction/featured.artist_product_listing/artist_id/106/fa_nav/on/

as to the spider it will look like a URL with lot of directories. I want to make the URL short enough so that the maximum channels that appear in a URL is 3. In the URL above there are 6 channels and search engined dosen't like them as they index max under 3 channels...

Do you have any suggestions here?

I read "Is it possible to make clean URLs with ColdFusion?" on [webmasterworld.com...] which mentions that "If you are concerned with the long URL string that can occur, if you read the documentation on the latest version, the long strings are automatically converted. I've never had an issue with a CF site being non-indexeable by the engines. "
I don't know if this is of any help here.

Kindly suggest the way of shortening the URL channels. (and not making the directory name huge) by replacing /with ~ or something else...
