Some users can see it; some can't

An XYZ company client first had their website designed by a different company> Now XYZ is hosting it.

Some users are complaining that when the page is loaded, the page's main content, residing in a table cell on the right side of the page, is missing - the entire cell is white with no text or photos.

When I looked at it on one computer, it was fine. But when I looked at it on my other computer, it was like they said - all white in that one cell.

However, when I dragged my cursor over the white area the cell's content jumped into view.

Some of us here can see the content first try, some can't. When some of us refresh the page it is again white, but for others the cell's content displays properly.

And now, for even more strangeness - if you try to print the page in Landscape, IE crashes. Works fine in Portrait, but Landscape makes it crash. I don't get it.

I can send a URL if sticky mailed...

Thanks

You didn't say which browsers / platforms exhibit the problem.

It sounds a lot like the peekaboo bug in IE.

Search for that term, and you'll find the description. If it is that (or a table variant of it), you'll find some workarounds too.

Victor,

Thanks for the reply. We've been trying the various fixes for the IE peekabo bug that appear in forums.

But the page still won't behave yet.

It does however sound like that's what it is. IE6 on PCs.

Unless it is due to a javascript bug, you could try to look for on having HasLayout.
