Recommend software for a booking agency

Website that books comedians

I'm updating a website that books comedians. Each comedian will have his/her own page. And I need to search and sort the comedians by category.

Each bio page has following info:
* Bio picture.
* Description.
* Credits.
* Video sample (either on that page or linked)

I need it to be scalable for hundreds of comedians, and possibly different acts (like bands, magicians, etc.) Right now I'm looking at ecommerce software and just not using the shopping cart parts. I'm wondering if anyone has any better ideas.

I would investigate a Community type CMS. The one that comes to my mind is Plone. plone.org

This is not in PHP though so if that is what you are looking for then you don't want this. However a CMS framework is what you want.
