Since then my traffic has gone through the roof, from a mere 10 gig per month, with an average of 1000 uniques per night in Nov it is now hitting 30gig per month and up to 4000 uniques per night, with little else seemingly changed.
Following the stats, pages that languished on the web are now being picked up by google and others are ranking much higher than previously.
Extra traffic has given me a record month for income up to twice the expected amount (Hey its still not big)
The biggest suprise has been the messageboard, which barely indexed in google and is now using more bandwidth than my entire site this time last year.
Posts on the board, with typically awefull messageboard addresses are ranking in the top pages for some search terms. Income has doubled (to a pocket money level).
Posts made are now getting hit in google within days of making them. Google attacks the board nightly now with up to 40 hits at a time.
I was inclined to keep this success secret in case everyone did it but felt that hey, so many ideas here have helped me that i had to share it.
I totally recommend google sitemap program, it certinaly works for me to the extent of almost blowing my bandwidth, thank goodness the income has risen as well. CTR hasn't changed at all, just raw numbers of visitors.
