Sorry to put this idiot question, as I'm newbie:
I have a website put in a subdomain, say sub.domain.com.
Naturally, I must put something in www folder to redirect to this sub.domain.com.
What do you you think the best way so that Search engines like Google and others can crawl my web?
Thanks.

I'm not sure what you are asking. Do you have control of the main domain? If you put up a site at sub.domain.com that is a new page to the se's. Just get links to it from anywhere. If you have control of the main domain just put a link to it.

I would suggest that you put the site in a subdirectory rather than a subdomain.

Regardless, if you have control over the domain and will not be putting anything on it, then use a 301 redirect. If you are using an Apache server it will be pretty easy, and you should be able to find tutorials on here to help you along.

These kinds of topics and solutions are discussed all the time (because a lot of us find them tricky as heck:) in the Apache Web Server [webmasterworld.com] forum. You'll get a jump start checking out that forum's Charter [webmasterworld.com] and Library [webmasterworld.com], and you'll also find a lot of info in current and past threads. Good luck!
