I'm using Beyond Compare to edit pages on my site, but recently it won't connect. Sometimes it works if I reset the FTP password via My Admin Panel. My other FTP program connects fine.

Anyone know what this error is? (500 RT)

Welcome to WebmasterWorld [webmasterworld.com], naegle!

I have no experience with Beyond Compare. That aside:

500 RT usually means that the previous ftp command was not understood.

Try turning off your anti-virus and firewall software. Not that I recommend running connected that way but just as a test to check a known (some brands) interference possibility.

As your third party ftp client works it might be best to stick to that route.
