I am getting ready to finnaly get one of my sites over to dedicated as its just running to slow. My issue is pricing, has any one ever tried to negotiate hosting terms with a company when all you have is a smaller site? Do they negotiate? Ive always settled for sub par dedicated hosting and Im thinking about going to a diffrent company for this site, pretty much the same set up but almost 3.5 times the price. So I kind of want to try and get more for my dollar or a discount on of there normal price... Kind or price matching or something? Let me know if you have ever tried this and how it went.

Hmmm "Fanatical" means you are looking at
Rackspace; correct?
due to their high pro level of services
I doubt that they might accept to lower their cost of services
But I will be very interested in the output
can it go bellow $400.00?

You'll never know if you don't ask.

Everything is negotiable.

My price is different than your price.

Call them, ask for their price, make a counter offer and see what they say. They might laugh, they might say yes, they might make you a counter offer.

That fanatical set up was about 550 on first quote, which is higher than i want to pay but is what i need to keep the site operating fast. Thats where the negotiation questions come from...

Offer 400, see what they say.

maybe $400 for the first 4 months, then $500 for the rest of the year, then $550 for the following year.

everything is negotiable.

if you can do your own...it's a lot cheaper if you take out the managed backups...
