Files losing code during FTP transfer

I just changed something to most pages on one website and uploaded them to the remote server using FTP Commander (a small easy to use FTP client). I noticed that all files were transfered without a banner I have at the bottom of each page. I tried using another FTP program called AceFTP - still all pages were uploaded without the <img src...> code. Any idea why this happens? I have no clue what to do to fix this.

Thanks:)

Are you certain you are transferring the correct files?
Have you tried closing the file from your editing program before you attempt the transfer?

How big are the files, byte-size-wise?

Hi Coopster.
Yes, I'm transferring the correct files and they're not open during transfer. In fact I just downloaded a 30 day trial version of WS FTP and with this program the files are transfered without losing code.

Files are small - 10 kb. Also, the banner in question is not the only banner I have on these pages (there are 5 more images, all uploaded ok with all ftp programs). I'm thinking maybe the problem is a setting I need to do with the 2 programs that don't work well. Just don't know which setting.

It seems this is somehow triggered by my Norton Security Pack - when I turn it off files upload ok.

I had faced this as an ISP issue.

Instead of AUTO more, use binary and ascii for relevant files and you would face no problems.
