How to do it?

I have seen many a blog that automatically make certain words *links* to another site, and would like to take a look at this concept further.
Any ideas?

Thanks!

Most forum packages have a "censorship" or swear word filter that can be used for this kind of task: you define the word and it's replacement (the linked version). Many blog packages are the same: you can define a list of words or acronyms which are transformed during page generation.

A second, different approach it to use Javascipt, in much the same way as the various contextual advertizing services which seek out set words or phrases and add a link to them.

That's the one I'm looking for!

You reminded me of a great tool to use as well in the word censor tool- forgot about that one.

Thanks.

Uh Oh.....a problem with the Word Censor feature- it also changes the words (upper or lower case use) in the Subject line of a post in forums. : (
Very undesirable effect, as it switches the link to whatever we are linking to, rather than the post itself.
Hmmm....
