DNS wildcard entries and regular subdomain entries

Which one will resolve first?

I run a user based website where user profiles are accessible from [username].website.com

To speed up the site I'm moving all site images to another server, and will be using the subdomain images.website.com

The first part is handled by a wildcard (*) entry in the DNS zone file. Will the wildcard entry be resolved instead of the "images" entry after it is added? If so, what should I do to get around this?
