Does that affect the way search engines consider your site? I guess you will not have different ip for each.
I have yet to ever see anyone offer solid proof otherwise..
I think it is nothing more than a sales pitch injected by webhosts trying to get you to open your wallet morethan you need too..
There's a big difference between linking your sites and creating a link farm.. Link farming will indeed get you busted but just linking to your other sites wont be a problem and can even help the sites that are relational

Keep in mind, though, that the more links you have from other sites the more Google tends to "overlook" the same-ip-address linking.
Even if you were on different servers at the hosts shop most likely they will still be in the same C block
That's pretty ridiculous to me (no offense of course). I'd need to have 10 different hosting companies if I run 10 websites? I don't think so.
If I'm not wrong common shared server plans are the usual way to host for most of people, and is there plenity of websites ranking ok using sharing server. I don't think they have unique IPs.
I belive is there a mith no one can proof, but I doesn't seem to have a solid base.
